To enhance the visibility of Mauritius as an International Financial Centre (IFC) of choice for Africa, the Financial Services Promotion Agency (FSPA) is coordinating a delegation of 14 private sector operators in the financial services industry to Hong-Kong and Shanghai from the 16th to 20th of January 2017.
The mission comprises:
1) Two FSPA organised Business Forums on the theme “Mauritius: The International Financial Centre of Choice for Africa”, in Hong Kong and Shanghai respectively. The Business Forums will showcase the advantages of using Mauritius as a platform for investing and doing business in Africa by Chinese firms.
2) Participating and showcasing Mauritius at the 10th edition of the Asian Financial Forum, to be held in Hong Kong. The 10th edition of the Asian Financial Forum will feature a diverse panel of China market experts from across industries exploring opportunities in emerging markets. The FSPA will also host a booth under the banner ‘Mauritius International Financial Centre’ during this forum.
3) Enhancing bilateral relations between the FSPA and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in the field of financial services.
The FSPA will also coordinate highly targeted meetings in the fields of legal services, fund management and regional headquartering aiming at positioning the Mauritius IFC as the ideal platform in Africa.
